Grand Prize Winners From Last Year"Grand Prize Winners From Last Year is a trio of drum machinists, guitarists, keyboardists, horn players, and overall sound sculptors. They refer to their sound as genre-less but have been compared to Outkast meets TV On The Radio meets Blondie. 'We like to think our music sounds like when self-medication is going good.' G.P.W.F.L.Y. have no predisposition about their music and have stated 'We are not in or out of the box because to us there is no box.'"

Gruzer"Grüzer was formed in December of 2013 by six fellas very familiar in the heavy scene around Columbia and the Carolinas. Hailing from such local/regional bands as Deathvalley Driver, Diavolo, Carolyn, Shaokahn and Mean Wiener/Evil Empire just to name a few, these guys are no strangers to the game. Grüzer intends on drawing from our collective experience and making the best music that the six of us can possibly make. We play what we want, when we want, and have zero concern with fitting into a certain label, genre or sub-genre. Just know that when you see or hear Grüzer, you will be getting one of the best, heaviest bands in the Southeast!

Blackrune"Blackrune was conjured through the portal of a feedback ritual by PM Goerner in the year two thousand and twelve, and became a true nexus of musical clerics in 2013 when a dark dust nebulae condensed on the core formation of Chris Goggans, Matt McCullouch, and PM Goerner. Blackrune wields ancient knowledge in the progressive pursuit of modern sciences such as heavy psychedelia, dark shoegaze, atmospheric black metal, and dreamy noise."

The Restoration, The Toothe
The Restoration"The Restoration consists of five Dixie-grown troubadours who grew up performing in orchestras, picking bluegrass and playing in rock and roll bands. United in 2008, The Restoration have put their musical tutelage to work, channeling rock energy and indie-pop sensibilities through banjos, violins, pianos, organs and pounding percussion. The Restoration cherish music history and aspire to help in its preservation by bridging contemporary songcraft with the rich, vintage offerings of classical orchestra, bluegrass, church hymnals, big band, jazz, and early country."

Beitthemeans, Carolina Chupacabra, Lowercase Gods
Beitthemeans"Just when you thought Southern rock was said and done, along comes Beitthemeans, swaggering out from a dark shed somewhere deep in the pines of Sylacauga, Alabama. The name is fitting for a power trio that is all about boot straps, whether it’s pulling them up or using them to beat their way out of a smoldering genre that could benefit from a whipping or two. With swelling riffs, bluesy throwbacks and a lead singer with a screech that must be part owl, BITM certainly cracks the whip on Southern rock."

Lowercase Gods"Riding the crest of the massive American metal resurgence wave is Lowercase Gods. This West Columbia, S.C.-based band blends elements of thrash, progressive metal, classic metal and atmospheric rock to create a unique and powerful sound. In addition to its original music, the band weaves into their live show uniquely thick and ripping versions of songs by influences such as Rush, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Rolling Stones and Kiss."

Diarrhea Planet, The Fishing Journal, Fuck Mountain, Thee Knee Jerks
Diarrhea Planet"At SXSW, Diarrhea Planet dominated every venue they played, and soon found their name on everyone's lips. How could it not be after such heroics like Miller and Bird scaling a rickety scaffolding at Cheer Up Charlie's for the final shred-off of fan favorite (and first DP song ever written) Ghost With A Boner? But while the over-the-top theatrics and goofiness provided good fodder, the music itself was just as impossible to ignore. Diarrhea Planet are ready to conquer hearts, demolish ear drums, and remind you that while rock and roll's never needed saving, it's damn good to have a band that makes it as wholly life-affirming and flat out fun as it's supposed to be." - Jon Blistein

The Fishing Journal"The Fishing Journal was formed in Columbia, SC in 2011. Started as a vehicle to perform the recorded works of Christopher Powell (ex-Death Becomes Even the Maiden, Mercy Shot, Haunted Bulldozer), The Fishing Journal is a rock trio employing the talents of Chuck Sligh on electric bass (Burnt Books, ex-Tunguska, ex-A Rapist in the Choir) and also the talents of Josh Latham (Kid Anthem, ex-The Restoration, ex-Justin Smith Band) on the drums. Powell plays the electric guitar and sings."
