 | VerseWorks poetry open mic show and slam. Join us for an open mic, and stay for for the slam! Root for your favorite poets as they try to rack up points towards a team slot, or compete yourself. Bring a friend, grab a beer, and support the poetry scene in the Soda City. As usual, the fun begins at 8:30. Contest is open to the first 20 people who put in a song request. Doors open at 8pm so get there ON TIME. Entry fee $5. Three judges who score entrants from 1 to 10 in three categories: technical ability, charisma/stage presence, and audience reaction. The person with the highest total score will be the winner. $150 to the winner and $25 each to 2nd and 3rd place. Limit 20 entries. Contest starts at 8:30 and go til sometime between 9:30 and 10.
