BOOKING YOUR BAND AT ART BARWhat we book:Indie, alternative, original music. How to get booked: Send a link to your MP3 file to artbarbooking@artbarsc.com. I'm an out of town band, how do I get booked: E-mail your link. If we like it enough, we'll have you play. We can't accommodate a lot of out of town acts, so your best bet is to trade a show with one of our Saturday night bands. See our music page for bands playing at Art Bar on Saturdays. I'm a local band trying to break in. E-mail artbarbooking@artbarsc.com and ask for a Thursday night show. If you draw well on a Thursday, we WILL have you back on a Saturday. If you don't draw well, then there's not much we can do. IF YOU GET A BOOKING:1. Do not play another show in Columbia 21 days before or after a show booked at the Art Bar. Ideally 28 days. If you play too often in Columbia, it will dilute your draw. This is a basic principal of supply and demand. If you've got too much supply (gigs) then you will have no demand (audience).2. All bands are expected to promote their show at least three weeks in advance, whether they are headlining or opening. Calling and emailing is the most effective form of advertising. PROMOTING YOUR SHOW:If you're a local band, please bring 10 full size fliers and hand bills by the club. We have peg boards throughout the club where you can put you fliers.
